Facebook: I hate your guts.

Man, I must be popular!! I woke up to 57 notifications on Facebook this morning! A week or so ago, I would have 3 or 4. I even went through all the steps of eliminating “things” I did not want to see. I have checked and unchecked….deleted, marked, erased, made lists, and frankly…even had some “come to Jesus” conversations with my screen.

And so surely after all of that, I would be back to my 3 or 4 truly personalized notifications that I gave a flyin’ flip about, right??

WRONG!

Not only were there 57 notifications, those pesky “Top Stories” were there…again….you know, the ones with the little blue folded down corners. The ones I had clicked and it told me…. “We will try not to put anymore of these pesky stories you are not interested in up again…”

Well Facebook… You lied. Everything came back. And then some.

Guess what?!?! I don’t give two crapolas on a stick if one of my friends commented on someone elses ridiculous post about someone else’s weenie dog who was wearing a hot-dog bun for a Halloween costume. I just don’t.

I also do not care if my neighbors , daughters, neighbor in her dorm-room got drunk and exposed herself publically via photos online. I may not care….that is something her MOTHER would care about. And should be able to see ,  only if she were her friend directly…

So here is the deal Facebook:  You have went too far. You have made this too complicated. You can say all day long how “user friendly” this new system is. Go ahead, tell yourselves that. Maybe if you are the developer. But what about your users. The common man? The millions of people who have made Facebook what it is today. The simple public? We hate it. Just read about every other status. I am sure that will be easy enough. You can group everyone into one “list.” It could be called “We hate the new Facebook.” And everyone will be on it. EVERYONE.

While I believe in change and growth to make things tick….this is just too much. It is too chaotic. It is too “busy” and people are going to drop off of your site like dead flies.

If your “changes” involved more potential income for you by exposing everyone to everything….. then be prepared. Greed breeds failure.

Simplicity. That is what the people want. Basic interaction with those whom they love and care about. Easy navigation. A peaceful place that does not cause confusion. It’s not hard Zuckerberg. You had it right the first time. Leave well enough alone.

Facebook:  I hate your guts.

I had already strayed from facebook toward Twitter anyway. After these changes, I hardly ever post to facebook anymore. It’s annoying!

I want me two options for my news feed back: Top Stories or Most Recent. I don’t want to have to click and scroll and scroll and still not find what I’m looking for. I haven’t heard anyone say they like this better. No. One. I know it’s free, but so was MySpace and we know how that worked out. Facebook might be the new “abandoned amusement park.”

Sorry for the long comment, but I hate Facebook’s guts, too. :-)

BTW, I was looking at some pictures the other day and came across your antiobiotic incident. That, my dear, still amazes me. And entertains me to no end. You poor thing. :-)

Exactly what I TOLD Facebook, but in a much more humorous manner. Their response, “Thank you for your concerns. We cannot reply to individuals, but rest assured that we are listening.” Or some such nonsense. They had BETTER be listening!

Yeah right, if they had been “listening” it would have already went back to the old one. People are ticked! I will prob end up just not getting on there hardly ever. Stupid, stupid!!!
